Prove the Environmental Impact of Your Product
Transparent, verified and internationally comparable environmental information for your product.
An EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) is a standardized document that quantifies a product’s environmental impacts across its entire life cycle — from raw materials to end-of-life. It helps demonstrate sustainability performance, meet market requirements, and build trust with customers.
What is an EPD?
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is an independently verified document prepared in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804, based on the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology.
It includes:
climate impact (CO₂, GWP)
energy and resource consumption
waste generation
impacts on air, water and soil
material composition and circularity data
EPDs enable objective product comparison and are often required for:
public procurement
green building certifications (LEED, BREEAM, DGNB)
sustainability and ESG reporting
customer and supply chain requirements

How EPD is developed
Define Scope & Collect Data
Gather verified and product-specific data required for the Environmental Product Declaration, including raw materials, energy use, manufacturing processes, transport, packaging, use phase, and end-of-life scenarios. Data collection follows ISO 14040/44 and relevant Product Category Rules (PCR).
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
Perform a full Life Cycle Assessment to quantify environmental impacts across the product’s life cycle. This includes climate change impact (GWP), resource use, energy consumption, waste generation, and emissions to air, water, and soil, in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804.
EPD Preparation & Verification
Prepare the Environmental Product Declaration document based on LCA results and PCR requirements. The EPD is then independently reviewed and verified by an accredited third-party verifier to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with applicable standards.
Publication & Maintenance
Register and publish the verified EPD in an official EPD program. Maintain and update the declaration when product data, processes, or regulations change, ensuring long-term validity, traceability, and usability for customers, tenders, and sustainability reporting.
